Burma water liveability
The annual Boat Race takes place on Inle Lake, Myanmar every September/ October to celebrate the Buddhist celebration called the Paung Daw Oo Pagoda festival. It is the largest festival in Myanmar and starts on the first day of the waxing moon and lasts for 18 days until the 3rd day after the full moon. During this time, teams of boatmen called leg rowers, from different lakeside villages, gather together to race in an extraordinary spectacle.
